By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 28: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Shree Pokharvindi Secondary School in Rohini Rural Municipality-2, Bhatpurwa, Rupandehi, on Sunday.
The school was built with the assistance of Rs. 12.5 million from India.
As per a press statement issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Monday, Vice President Yadav appreciated the assistance provided by India for developing infrastructure in Nepal in education as well as other sectors.
Indian Embassy’s Chargé d’affaires Prasanna Shrivastava was also present on the occasion and expressed India’s commitment to strengthening the development partnership between Nepal and India in line with the former’s priorities and for the benefit of the people of both countries.
The school was built under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ grant of the Indian government, as per the Indian mission.
The construction was taken up as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) under an Agreement between the governments of Nepal and India.
Shree Pokharvindi Secondary School was established in 1959. Presently, the school has over 600 students and about 55 per cent of them are girls.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of Mission Shrivastava also inaugurated school and laboratory buildings of Shree Gautam Buddha Secondary School in Buddhabhumi Municipality, Kapilvastu on Monday.
The buildings were built with financial assistance of Rs. 33.23 million from the Government of India, read another press statement issued by the Embassy of India.The Rising Nepal
