Kakarviita A large-scale interaction program has been completed in Kakarvitta regarding drug addiction and traffic control.
On Wednesday, there was a large participation of ordinary citizens along with stakeholders in the interaction program held at the meeting hall of Kakarvitta water supply located in Mechinagar 6.
District Police Office Jhapa, Area Police Office Kakarvitta and Mechi Community Service Center jointly organized community police partnership program, a large-scale interaction and discussion on increasing drug addiction, transportation, sale and distribution control was completed.Speaking at the interaction program, the chief guest Koshi State MP Gopal Tamang said that all sectors will contribute significantly to prevent such activities that cause human damage. MP Tamang said, “There is no alternative to making a long-term plan and implementing it to prevent activities such as drug addiction, transportation, and distribution.”He opined that the three levels of government, social organizations and civil society will play an important role for its sustainable solution. MP Tamang stated that today there is an increase in favoring negative actions over positive actions, and he said that it is necessary to discourage this.
Similarly, Mechinagar Deputy Mayor Meena Pokhrel Upreti, the special guest of the program, expressed her commitment that since Mechinagar municipality located on the border is geographically different from other municipalities, the local government will move forward with coordination and cooperation with the stakeholders for a permanent solution. She said, “The local government has put forward a plan to rehabilitate the citizens trapped in Kulat by building a permanent structure.”
The program was attended by former Member of Parliament of Koshi Province Shri Prasad Mainali, outgoing Mayor of Mechinagar Municipality Bimal Acharya, Chairman of Ward No. 6 Lalit Bahadur Tamang, Chairman of Ward No. 8 Giriraj Dhamala, Member of Academic Council Subhadra Bhattarai Aryal and others.
On the same occasion, Chief Superintendent of Police Durgaraj Regmi of District Police Office, Jhapa, along with the reception, presented the data related to drug incidents in Jhapa during one year.

The program was coordinated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Bharatati on behalf of the Kakarvitta area police office. More than 200 people participated in the interaction program, including various organizations, village development committee officials, civic leaders, social activists, media personnel, security forces, teachers, students, public representatives, and businessmen.
Mukti Paudel, president of Mechi Community Service Center, conducted and facilitated the program under the chairmanship of Jhapa Assistant Chief District Officer Rudra Neupane.
