Photo exhibition on Chinese Gansu Province held

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 26: Nepal hosted one-day photo exhibition entitled ‘Wind from the North of the Valley’ showcasing the rich landscape and beauty of Chinese Gansu Province in Kathmandu on Monday.

The photo exhibition, organised by Gansu Modern Photography Society, was inaugurated by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar.

Addressing the event, Deputy Speaker appreciated the Chinese modernisation and stressed on need for learning by other countries including Nepal.

Praising the economic prosperity of the northern neighbour, Magar said that the two countries can further boost the relations through cooperation in different sectors.

She also took the occasion to share about the rich natural resources and beauty of Gansu province and expressed hope that similar photo exhibition could be organised in China showcasing Nepal’s beauty in the future.

On the occasion, Wang Jian Xin, Vice Chairman of the Gansu Modern Photography Society, said that the exhibition highlights the rich landscape, history, culture and daily life of Gansu Province.

He also expressed hope that the exhibition would help bring the people of the two countries closer, and will lift cultural and tourism exchanges.

Dozens of colourful photos were showcased in the exhibition held inside the world heritage site Patan Durbar Square. The event was co-organised by the Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council, Nepal-China Friendship Forum and National Forum of Photo Journalists.The Rising Nepal
