Mechinagar. The police have detained a car driver with a vehicle carrying illegal liquor coming to Nepal after evading customs from India.
On Tuesday morning at around 9 o’clock, behind Mechinagar 6 customs gate, the Indian car number BR 22 F 5051 coming from India to Nepal was checked by the team of Kakadvitta area police office. Black Mountain whiskey 254 bottles and super strong beer 24 bottles were recovered.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar Chand said that the Indian driver Jitendra Kumar Paswan was arrested along with goods worth 898 thousand 900 with the market value of seized liquor estimated at 198 thousand 900 and vehicle breakdown.
Police spokesperson Chand said that the goods and persons have been handed over to Mechi Customs Office Kakadvitta for further legal action regarding the seized liquor and car.
