Ilam, Sept. 22: On the occasion of the World Tourism Day, Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam is going to organise a photo competition on September 27.
At a press meet organised on Tuesday, Srijan Gadal, engineer of the municipality, informed that the competition was being organised with the aim of identifying many destinations of the municipality that are yet to be promoted.
The first, second and the third winners of the competition will receive Rs.15, 000, Rs.10, 000 and Rs.5, 000 respectively.
Milan Bhattarai, chief administrative officer of the Municipality, informed that the participants are requested to come up with the photographs that could contribute to tourism promotion in Suryodaya Municipality.
A single participant can send maximum five photographs.
According to the municipality, a description of at least 50 words should be written along with each photogrpah.
The municipality said that photographs taken by drones would not be eligible for competition.
Interest participants can send their photographs by 12:00 noon September 25. Ujwal Subedi, the information technology officer of the Municipality, informed that the photos must have been taken within Suryodaya Municipality in 2079 BS.
Photos that have been used elsewhere will not be allowed to participate in the competition.
Earlier, the Province 1 government had declared Suryodaya as a tourist town.
Chief administrative officer Bhattarai said that the competition was being organised to further promote the tourist spots of the municipality.
