kakarvitta- The youth of Jhapa Mechinagar Ward No. 15 Jamirgadhi staged a sarcastic protest saying that federal MP Vishwaprakash Sharma and Mayor Gopalchandra Budhathoki, who promised to build a bridge over the Ninda river, have disappeared.

The locals have been demanding the suspension bridge connecting Bicharni and Heldubari villages for years and both the leaders had made an election promise to build the bridge.

The foundation stone of the suspension bridge was laid on 10th Kartik 2079 as the first program after the election of Federal MP Sharma and State MP Gopal Tamang.

Although the construction of the bridge has started, the work of the suspension bridge has been stopped for a long time, according to the locals.

Jairam Dahal, a youth from Jamirgadhi, said that on Saturday morning, local youth protested by standing on the under-construction swing carrying placards with the words ‘Members of Parliament lost notice’ and ‘Kahile banchha bridge’.
