Siliguri Panitanki Traffic Guard Police take stern actions against lockdown violators
Siliguri, 08th May: Despite repeated reminders to stay home and not to come out on the streets unnecessarily, several people were spotted crowding the Hillcart road area today.
The Siliguri Panitanki Traffic Guard Police, in this regard, launched operations in the said area and detained several e-rickshaws (toto) and other vehicles under the charge of breaching the government protocols.
Voluntary organization Musafiri helps the needy amid lockdown in Siliguri

Siliguri, 08th May: In light of the COVID-19 lockdown, a voluntary organization ‘Musafiri’ extended its helping hand towards the needy. The organization has been working for the welfare of the society since January 24, of this year.
Musafiri, with the assistance of the Siliguri Police, distributed ration among 700 needy people. The members stated that more such initiatives will be taken in the future.

Siliguri Police Commissionerate celebrated Rabindra Jayanti amid COVID-19 lockdown

Siliguri, 08th May: Amid the ongoing lockdown to fight COVID-19 pandemic, the Siliguri Police Commissionerate celebrated the 159th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore following all the government protocols.
On Friday morning, Police Commissioner Tripurari Arthav garlanded the statue of Tagore and lighted a lamp. Following which, the police personnel conducted a short programme by performing Rabindra Sangeet. The Commissioner also inaugurated two tablos today.
Dense fog surrounds Dhupguri in the month of May

Welcoming the reduction in pollution, environmentalists claim that pollution is considered to be at the lowest and the air is believed to be the healthiest to breathe. They further say that the decline in pollution is the reason why the temperature has dropped considerably and nature has gradually started restoring its balance.
