By TRN Online, Kavrepalanchwok, Sept.24: CDO Nepal has been promoting nutrition-containing vegetable farming in Mandandeupur Municipality of Kavrepalanchok district at a time when the maternal and child mortality rate going up.
Shamjhana Poudel of CDO Nepal said that the campaign is initiated as these vegetables can be grown in the household nurseries.
The objective of organic vegetable farming is to protect mothers and newborn babies from malnutrition.
Paudel informed that process of preparing organic fertilizer, nursery, and importance of vegetable farming are taught in ward number 5,6 and 12 of Mandandeupur Municipality.
Agriculture Section Head of Mandandeupur Municipality, Gopal Sapkota taught the idea of increase nutritional elements for pregnant women.
CDO Nepal distributed 14 different varieties of vegetables to 120 families.
Local resident Prem Narayan Parajuli said that he took part in the programme of this organization where he got 14 different types of seeds and earned Rs 20000 by selling cucumber
Ward 5 Chairperson Harka Bahadur Lama appreciated that CDO Nepal has been pursuing a tremendous endeavor.
This development organization has been working in health, drinking water, education in Lalitpur, kavre, Morang since last 17 years.
