
Rajganj, 20th April: Despite repeated reminders to stay home and not to come out on the streets unnecessarily, there have been several complaints of people gathering at various corners around Rajganj block deliberately violating the lockdown.
In this regard, the Ambari Checkpost police under NJP police station conducted Naka checking in the Ambari Canal More of Rajganj block on Friday morning and took strict legal action against the violators.
Vegetable and fruit shops in Siliguri Bidhan Market shifted to Kanchenjunga Stadium

Siliguri, 20th April: Taking another precautionary measure to combat COVID-19, the vegetable and fruit shops in Siliguri Bidhan Market have been shifted to the Mela grounds of Kanchenjunga Stadium on Monday.
Such an initiative has been taken to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distancing. As per the reports, police surveillance will be kept in the area regularly to ensure whether all the government protocols are being followed properly or not.
The vendors have been asked to set up the shops maintaining adequate distance. The police strictly ordered everyone to wear mouth masks and maintain social distance (a minimum of 1 m) inside the market premises.

Siliguri, 20th April: On Monday morning, Police Commissioner Tripurari Arthav and IC of Siliguri Police Station Sudip Chakraborty inspected the newly set up vegetable and fruit market in the Kanchanjunga Stadium premises.
Ward Councilor Nantu Pal stated that sheds will be constructed soon over all the shops to protect the vendors from rain and sun. Sanitizers will also be arranged for the customers to help them sanitize their hands before entering the market premises.
