
Minister Goutam Deb and Siliguri Rotary India helps journalists boost their immunity amid pandemic
Siliguri, 02nd May: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, six rotary clubs under the Rotary India Siliguri Branch, on Saturday, handed over milkshakes to the Secretary of Siliguri Journalist Club, to help the journalists boost their immunity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb was present during the programme.
It has been learned that the clubs earlier distributed milkshakes among the health workers of the Siliguri District Hospital and NBMCH. Such an initiative has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the emergency service workers who are on the frontline combating COVID-19 pandemic.
Apart from this, masks and sanitizers were also distributed among the journalists.
People crowd in Siliguri Haiderpara area ignoring lockdown

Siliguri, 02nd May: Despite repeated reminders to stay home and not to come out on the streets unnecessarily, there have been several complaints of people gathering at various corners around Siliguri deliberately violating the lockdown.
As per the report, a huge crowd was spotted, this morning, in the Siliguri Haiderpara area. Despite being urged several times, people were seen breaching the lockdown protocols. Several e-rickshaws (Toto), autos, and two-wheelers were also sighted on the streets today.
The State government on Monday classified Darjeeling District as Orange Zone, while the Central, on Friday, re-classified it as a Red Zone.siliguritimes/from,india
