Several BJP workers detained on the charge of breaching lockdown restrictions
Siliguri, 05th May: Several members of the Siliguri District Organizational BJP were forcefully detained under the charge of breaching the lockdown restrictions.
As per the reports, some BJP officials visited the SDO office on Monday to submit a deputation concerning ration corruption amid the ongoing lockdown. While staging a demonstration in this regard, they were allegedly detained by the police for breaching the government protocols and not maintaining social distance.
Siliguri couple celebrated their anniversary in a unique way amid lockdown
Siliguri, 05th May: In a heart-warming gesture, Sanat Pal and his wife Lipi Pal, residents of the Siliguri Bharat Nagar area, decided not to celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary but instead distributed ration among several needy people, in the presence of Ward No. 24 Councilor Shankar Ghosh.
Apart from this, the couple also felicitated the cleaning staff for working on the frontline combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The couple stated that the nation-wide lockdown in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases has made a huge economical impact on the daily wagers and their families. Therefore, they decided to celebrate their anniversary in a unique way and stated that it was a pleasure to help the needy.
Siliguri Brahmo Samaj initiates sanitization measures in Siliguri District Hospital
Siliguri, 05th May: Under the initiative of the Siliguri Brahmo Samaj, special sanitization measures commenced in the Siliguri District Hospital premises to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus.
In this context, apart from hospitals, disinfectants and sanitizers are being regularly sprayed in various crowded areas of the city on behalf of the organization.
