Mechinagar. Three children from Jhapa and Morang, who went missing three months ago and were found in India, were safely rescued and brought to Nepal on Friday.
Among those who were rescued are Mechinagar-7 of Jhapa, Sujan Limbu, 7, of Vanshakhola, Sundar Haraincha-6 of Morang, Ayushka Pokharel, 14, and Radhika Darzi, 12, of Gachia. Limbu, a student in class 1 of Kakarvitta Mavi, went to see the Dashain special fair held at the border Indian market Panitanki.
The Indian police found him roaming around after reaching the fair and did not return home. After 4 days of missing from home, the news that Limbu was found safe came to Kakarvitta area police office.
Similarly, on the 27th of November last, Pokharel and Darzi, who had gone to school, did not return home till evening, so the family started looking for them.
According to family sources, Pokharel, a class 8 student of Sajilal Secondary School in Gachia, went to school to write the district level exam and a class 4 student of the same school to study tailoring. Both of them, who are also close friends, reached Darjeeling in the state of West Bengal, India on the same day.When they went out for a walk, they were buying socks at 8 o’clock in the night. Those who were rescued were handed over to Exit Darjeeling, an organization that rescues children there.
The organization kept them under its protection for a week and after necessary inquiries and consultations, wrote a letter about them to the office of the Consul General in Kolkata.
After that, a team led by the secretary of the said office, Satish Thapa, brought all the three rescued children to Nepal. All the three persons who were rescued safely were handed over to their respective families by the Kakarvitta area police office after completing the necessary procedures.
After their disappearance, the family informed the police and rescue organizations of Nepal and India, and the search was intensified.
