
Cooch Behar, 25th April: Sensation prevailed after the body of a woman was recovered from a maize field in Gitaldaha Haridas Khamar area of Dinhata.
The 40-year-old Firoza Bibi was a resident of Haridas Khamar area of Gitaldaha No. 1 Gram Panchayat of Dinhata-1 Block. According to sources, on Friday, she went out on the field near her house to bring grass for the cow.
As she did not return home by evening, her family frantically started looking for her. Later, Feroza Bibi was found lying in a maize field. She was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
Thermal screening commenced in Rajganj

Rajganj, 25th April: In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, strict Naka checking and thermal screening have commenced in Rajganj’s East-West Corridor and the State Highway, this morning.
As per the reports, several pedestrians were screened in the Sahu bridge and Belakoba Battala area. The police also stopped the vehicles and conducted Naka checking.
According to the Block Health department, all the people before entering Jalpaiguri will be screened to prevent the spread of the virus. It has also been learned that thermal screening will be held on a regular basis from now on.
Kalbaisakhi storm lashes over parts of Dhupguri

Dhupguri, 25th April: Nor’westers (Kalbaisakhi) lashed over the Sahebtari area under Gadong-II Gram Panchayat of Dhupguri block, last night, causing widespread damage in the area.
Multiple electric poles fell and many trees were uprooted. Around 20 houses in the said area have been damaged due to the storm.
On the other hand, bamboo shrubs adjacent to the road near Nabakanta Primary School were also uprooted, due to which the road has been closed. Meanwhile, crops have been severely damaged due to the storm.siliguritimes/from,india
