RANGPO: The State government is planning to bring all persons including patients and students of Sikkim presently stranded in other States once the nationwide lockdown is lifted on May 3.
Sharing the State government’s plan to systematically bring back such persons with proper checking at Rangpo and Melli check posts, Health minister Dr. M.K. Sharma here today said all such people have to be sent for 14-days’ quarantine,
Earlier, the Health minister inaugurated a mobile testing booth for RT-PCR at Rangpo check post.
Minister Sharma said similar booths would be installed at all major entry points and hospitals for Covid-19 screening. He lauded the timely intervention and bold decisions of the Chief Minister to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
The minister was accompanied by the Health DG-cum-secretary, the CMO (east) and other officials of line departments.
The team made a joint inspection of Rangpo checkpost and Goli ground, which has been identified as the tentative screening site once the lockdown is lifted.sikkimexpress/from,india
