Kharibari, 17th April: Amid the nation-wide lockdown, several Jan Dhan Yojana account holders were spotted in front of a state-owned bank in the Binnabari Panchayat area under Kharibari block, since early morning today.
However, the people were sighted following the government guidelines and stood in queues maintaining social distance (a minimum of 1 m).

According to the latest data released by the Union Ministry of Health, the total COVID-19 cases in India has crossed the 13,000-mark with current numbers at 13,387.
1007 new cases and 3 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
Maharashtra has the most number of cases – 3,236 and Delhi is on the second spot with 1,640 cases.

Body of a 50-year old recovered in Fulbari

Rajganj, 17th April: Sensation prevailed after the dead body of a 50-year-old man, identified as Dulal Mohanto was recovered from the Fulbari-1 Gram Panchayat area.
According to sources, the deceased was a resident of Ambika Nagar and owned a wholesale shop in the Gate Bazar area. However, due to some conflict with his wife, he was staying in his newly constructed residence in the Goyala Basti area for the past one month.
As per the report, the locals sighted his dead body lying near his residence, this morning and immediately informed the NJP police. The deceased’s motorcycle was also spotted beside his dead body.
The police then reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy. The police are further investigating the matter.
West Bengal allows e-registration of property deeds

West Bengal will allow online registration of properties in view of the prevailing social distancing norms and issue provisional registration certificates, State Chief Secretary Rajiva Sinha stated.
A 20 per cent discount on registration charges has been announced to encourage online registrations. West Bengal is likely the first State to allow e-registration of title deeds.
