
Cooch Behar market complex shops disobey government protocols, Police compelled to intervene

Cooch Behar, 07th May: The Cooch Behar district administration, under the leadership of Cooch Behar Sadar SDO Sanjay Pal, launched operations inside the market complex and decreed the shopkeepers to shut down their respective shops immediately. Several shop owners were also detained on the charge of breaching the government protocols.
As per the administrative directive, shops inside the market complex cannot be opened during the lockdown period. However, various shops were spotted operating ignoring the government guidelines. Therefore, such an initiative has been taken.
Road accident kills 4 in Islampur

Raiganj, 07th May: A truck and a vehicle collided head-on with each other at the Gunjaria area near NH-31 under Islampur police station, late Wednesday night. Four people were killed in the incident. The deceased driver has been identified as Uttam Haldar (26).
The bodies were recovered and sent to the Islampur Sub-divisional hospital for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
COVID-19 swab collection facility launched in Rajganj Rural Hospital

Rajganj, 07th May: The COVID-19 Swab Collection Center was recently set up at the Rajganj Rural Hospital to make coronavirus testing easier for the patients. Accordingly, the collection of throat swabs of the suspected patients commenced from Wednesday.
According to the Block Health Department, the suspected patients, so far, had to be sent to North Bengal Medical College-Hospital in Siliguri for COVID-19 testing. Therefore, to simplify the process, the Rajganj Rural Hospital has been set up as a COVID-19 sample collection zone. The throat swabs will be collected from the hospital itself and then sent to NBMCH for final testing.
As per the reports, around 27 swabs of people who recently returned from Kota, Rajasthan were collected on Wednesday.siliguritimes/from,india
