Kolkata, india: The Special Task Force arrested a man with fake notes estimated at 4.5 lakh rupees from the capital Kolkata. The arrested is identified as Urij Sheikh (42).
According to the information, Sheikh reached the Sealdah railway station with the counterfeit currency which had been smuggled in from Bangladesh border. The STF caught him as soon as he got out of Sealdah station and was heading towards Beliaghata Road.
After examining the accused, 125 counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 denomination and 400 counterfeit notes of Rs 500 denomination were recovered, after which the accused was arrested. SILIGURI TIMES
