By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Sept. 5: Minister of Information and Communication Dr. Bikram Timilsina has urged effective coordination and management among the concerned agencies to ensure that there is no shortage in the treatment of injured and affected citizens and necessary health services during the disaster.
Minister Timilsina expressed his commitment that the government will provide necessary support from the state level if any problem is found during the treatment or if additional health services, treatment materials, and other management are required.
Minister Timilsina, also a member of the House of Representatives from Nuwakot Constituency No. 1, made this statement during the visit to TU Teaching Hospital on Friday.
Minister Timilsina inquired about the health condition and treatment arrangements of those rescued from the Bhotekoshi flood and undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
He met the people undergoing treatment and inquired about their health condition, whether there were any problems during the treatment, and the health services being provided by the hospital.
According to the hospital, out of the 78 people rescued from the Bhotekoshi flood and brought there for treatment, 29 are undergoing treatment as of 9:00 am on Friday. The hospital has stated that the other people whose health condition has improved after treatment have been discharged.
Hospital officials have informed Minister Timilsina that there has been no problem in the treatment of flood victims so far, and those undergoing treatment are receiving health services easily from the hospital.
After the huge loss of life and property due to the floods in the Bhotekoshi region, the injured and affected people rescued from various places are being brought to Kathmandu and are being treated at various health institutions.
The government has prioritised the health condition of the rescued people, continuity of treatment and necessary management.
