
Several COVID-19 lockdown violators arrested by Police in Sili
Siliguri, 21st April: Despite repeated reminders to stay home and not to come out on the streets unnecessarily, there have been several complaints of people gathering at various corners around the city deliberately violating the lockdown.
In this regard, the Siliguri police, under the leadership of Siliguri Inspector-in-charge (IC) Sudip Chakraborty, launched operations in Santoshi Nagar and Ganga Nagar area of Ward No. 5 on Tuesday and took strict legal action against the violators.
The police also carried out miking in the said areas to raise awareness among the people.
COVID-19 Latest updates: Over 18,000 active cases in India, death toll rises to 603

According to the latest data released by the Union Ministry of Health, the total COVID-19 cases in India has crossed the 18,000-mark with current numbers at 18,985 while 3260 have been cured of the virus.
Meanwhile, in West Bengal, 29 new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of positive cases in the state escalated to 274 on Tuesday.

Coronavirus pandemic: 53 journalists test positive in Mumbai

As per the report, samples of 167 journalists had been collected for testing, of which 53 have come out positive.
These 53 journalists, including reporters, photojournalists as well as cameramen of various news organizations, have been quarantined.
The total number of cases in Maharashtra is currently over 4,200 – the highest in the country – whereas, the death toll in the state stands at 223.
