Annapurna Spiker Kings’ victory tour concludes

BY A STAFF REPORTER, Kathmandu, Sept. 22: The Annapurna Spiker Kings’ (ASK) victory campaign, ‘Gaurav Ko Yatra’, concluded at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) on Sunday, with the Nepal Volleyball League Season 1 championship trophy reaching the Himalayan destination at an altitude of 4,130 metres.

The three-day campaign was organised to celebrate ASK’s title-winning campaign in the inaugural season of the Nepal Volleyball League and take the championship trophy to supporters and volleyball enthusiasts across Gandaki Province.

Co-ordinated by Poshan Mani Tripathee, ASK’s Gandaki coordinator, the victory tour began on Saturday, travelling through Syangja, Damauli and Bhimad. The campaign continued on Sunday with visits to Kalika Mandir in Baglung and Kusma in Parbat before completing a round of Pokhara.

The final leg of the campaign took place on Monday, when the championship trophy was transported by helicopter to Annapurna Base Camp. Chairperson Mina Limbu Tripathee, Gandaki coordinator Poshan Mani Tripathee, Pratisha Karmacharya, Brand Head of Agro Thai Foods and Xtreme Energy Drink, and Pritam Nepali from the production team were present at the base camp.

The trophy was taken to ABC against the backdrop of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, where the team paid tribute to Mt Annapurna.

According to the organisers, the campaign also sought to convey messages centred on the ‘Pride of Gandaki’, solidarity with flood-affected Rasuwa under the message ‘ASK stands with Rasuwa’, unity through ‘Two teams, one dream’, and environmental protection through the call to ‘Save Himalayas and Glacier Matters’.

The organisers expressed gratitude to supporters, local residents, temple devotees, tourism entrepreneurs and others who participated in or welcomed the campaign along its route.
